National Nursing Workforce Study
Coming August 2017
The National Council of State Boards of Nursing and The Forum of State Nursing Workforce Centers are collaborating on the third biennial national survey of Registered Nurses (RNs) and Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurses (LPNs/VNs) to provide an in-depth study of the national nursing workforce.
The survey is designed to collect important information on the supply of RNs and LPN/VNs in the United States. If you are one of the 327,000 nurses selected for this survey, we encourage you to complete it.
Knowledge of the supply of nurses can be used to predict possible shortages and assist in the allocation of resources, program development, recruitment efforts in both the health care system and education sectors.
Having an adequate supply of nurses in the workforce is essential to providing safe and effective healthcare to the citizens of the United States.
